Boasting 2 full bathrooms and 3 bedrooms, this apartment comfortably sleeps 6 adults. The master bedroom has a double bed, with an attached full master bathroom. The closet space is more than generous, and the master also includes lounge seating. The second bedroom has a double bed and another generously sized closet. The room also has a comfortable lounge seat. The third bedroom has two single beds, and an oversized closet. All bedrooms have windows adding wonderful natural light.
One of the highlights of the apartment is the huge “L” shaped balcony. It has a BBQ and cushioned seating. The 5th floor views are stunning, as you can be memorized by the lights of Melbourne, including the MCG and Parliament building, for as far as you can see. The large dining table seats six comfortably. The host is wonderful to work with, and is happy to meet your needs prior to arrival. I was travelling with my 3 year old and 2 year old, and was very pleased to see a crib and high chair set up upon arrival.
Beyond the luxury of the actual accommodation are the amenities The Summit apartment building offers. The Summit features a heated indoor salt water pool that you are able to use at your leisure. It also has a gym for your use as well. The ground floor has a convenience store that stocks all of the staples. The building has 3 elevators and 15 floors, so waiting for a lift is never an issue. A garbage shoot in the hall is a nice feature as well.
I cannot overstate the convenience of the location of the apartment. You are an easy walk to the Central Business District. The Crown Casino is a few short blocks away, which only takes minutes to walk to. The free city tram can be taken from the Melbourne Aquarium, which is only a 10 minute walk away. Across the street from the apartment is a full supermarket. Various cafes and bars are an easy walk from the apartment. The Melbourne International Airport was only a 30 minute drive in heavy traffic.
An often overlooked, but extremely important, part of any accommodation is safety. I immediately became impressed with the security of the building once I entered the parking garage. The apartment comes with one defined garage parking spot under the building. To gain access or to exit any part of the building, including the parking garage, foyer, and lift, you need an electronic key fob. The building has internal and external cameras, and a guard in the foyer. It also has a video intercom system to verify guest entry from within your apartment. And it goes without saying that the apartment is secured with a locking door. The two sliding glass doors to the huge balcony add a double locking feature, as well as provide an excellent noise buffer from the busy streets of Melbourne.
The Summit apartment is extremely quiet and well insulated. Among its many amenities are heat and air conditioning, and a free speedy unlimited Wi-Fi connection and Foxtel. The fully furnished apartment has a kitchen complete with a generous supply of coffees and teas. The full fridge is a wonderful compliment to the apartment, as is the double sink, dishwasher, microwave, oven, washing machine and dryer.
Staying in a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment so centrally located in Melbourne is a rare find. Throw in the comfort of this apartment, the security of the building, the free garage parking, an indoor heated pool, the gym, and the hospitality of the property manager, and this an accommodation you will not be disappointed in.
